Vented cylinders
Vented Hot Water Cylinders are the most common found in homes across the UK. Made of copper, cylinders such as these are filled with cold water from a storage tank likely to be found in the loft. A vent pipe will be required to link the vented hot water cylinder and the cold water in the storage tank.
Unvented cylinders
If you’re looking for a more energy efficient hot water system, especially if you have poor pressure showers and fluctuating hot water, then it may be an option to install a new unvented hot water cylinder. Unvented Hot Water Cylinders work directly from the mains water supply therefore it is important to have a good mains cold water pressure for optimum performance.
